I'll
Vote For That
Success Breeds Success: City
Council’s leadership in recreational
activities has been remarkable, and
the new Woodstock Park Skate Plaza
is the latest example of their vision
and commitment to enhancing our community.
By feeding off of the success of
the Mount Trashmore Skate Park and
listening to its constituents, City
Council moved forward and opened
last month a great facility at Woodstock
Park for skateboarders, inline skaters
and BMX bikers. With Woodstock open,
patronage at the Mount Trashmore
skating facility dropped greatly,
making it safer for skateboarders
and bikers. The drop in skaters proved
how far people were willing to travel
for the fun. Now, Kempsville families
are staying closer to home and enjoying
their own skateboard park. I support
more of these facilities throughout
the city. When kids have fun activities
close to home, we create the family-friendly
environment that benefits everyone.
I'll vote for that!
