I'll
Vote For That
Green Light for Red Light Cameras: I
believe most issues are best solved
at the local level by people most
in tune with the problems. Effective
self-government requires that laws
be written by those who live by them.
For these reasons, the General Assembly
should allow the return of red light
cameras to Virginia Beach. The facts
are clear. Red light cameras stop
and punish red light runners, and
save lives. Those who claim constitutional
problems with red light cameras better
be prepared to free robbers, assailants
and other criminals caught with the
help of security cameras. Ours is
the largest city in Virginia, and
traffic is heavy – certainly
heavier than the cities of some legislators
who are blocking this. Photo Red
saves lives, and Virginia Beach’s
wish to implement it shouldn’t
be stopped by out-of-town legislators.
I’ll vote for that!
